This event is held in the Fall and honors a WOIH member. Executive Board shall confirm honoree.

Chair shall select date, location and type of event – Dinner, Cocktail Party, Theme Party – and present to Executive Board for approval.

Chair shall provide an estimated budget including income and estimated expenses.

Committee members responsible for all details of the event – menu selection, music, Ad journal, marketing

Chair shall provide a comprehensive report after the event.

The Vice President is the Chair of this committee (as per By Laws) and the Sergeants At Arms are members of the committee

Chair is responsible for obtaining dates of local parades (Newark, Nutley, West Orange) and completing registration forms.

Committee is responsible for providing sashes, banners and flags as well as obtaining refreshments for tailgating – West Orange parade only.

If traveling out of state, the committee is responsible for contact with parade organizations, registration and providing information on flights and housing.

This committee is responsible for sending Get Well cards, sympathy cards and flowers for deceased members

The May Mass is held at St. Joseph’s Church prior to the May General Membership meeting.

The Committee is responsible for confirming the date at the church and the availability of our Chaplain Fr. White. If Fr. White not available, they must make other arrangements.

They will make arrangements for music, readers, program and reading of our deceased members.

This committee is responsible for review of WOIH Bylaws and making suggested changes/ amendments to ensure Bylaws are current and reflect organization goals.

Changes are submitted to general membership at two consecutive meetings and voted upon at the third meeting.

The Program Committee provides appropriate speakers for the general membership meetings. Speakers to cover historical, cultural or other Irish topics.

The committee shall make arrangements for speakers attendance.

We generally only have speakers at October, November, January, April and June.

This committee is responsible for the filing of all reports and tax forms – Corporate Annual Return, form #990 tax return.

They are responsible for filing appropriate forms for event raffles.

They will perform an annual audit.
CHRISTMAS PARTY – 2026 (Tara Desena, Maureen DeStefano, Bridget Kerr, Joy Iannizzi, Ann Marie Logue)

The Christmas Party is held on the first Wednesday in December in place of the General Membership meeting.

The organization owns a Santa costume if desired to use.

We have staggered terms of office and seven (7) Executive Board positions are up for election every year.

This committee tracks the term limits of the members of the Executive Board and provides information on open offices.

They provide and collect nomination forms, announce nominations, conduct elections and installation of officers.

This committee is responsible for keeping website up to date and other electronic communication systems.

This committee handles all details of the Scholarship Program; provides application form and eligibility requirements; reviews applications submitted and makes selection.

Responsible for presenting certificates and scholarship checks to recipients at June meeting.
