Women of Irish Heritage of Northern New Jersey (WOIH NNJ) is a civic and cultural organization founded in 1973. We celebrate Irish heritage, build community among women of Irish descent, and support charitable causes across Northern New Jersey through monthly meetings, cultural events, fundraisers, and an annual scholarship program.

Who can join WOIH NNJ?

Membership is open to women who are 18 years of age or older who have Irish heritage or a love of Irish culture living in or around Northern New Jersey. We welcome both first-time members and those returning to the organization. You can apply online through our Membership Application page.

How much does membership cost?

Annual dues are $50 for regular members and $40 for senior members. First-time applicants also pay a one-time $50 General/$40 Senior application fee. Dues support our events, scholarship fund, and charitable activities.

We hold monthly meetings throughout the year at The Friendly Sons of the Shillelagh, 648 Prospect Ave, West Orange, NJ. Meeting dates are listed on our Events Calendar. Members receive advance notice of each meeting.

Each year WOIH NNJ awards a scholarship to a student of Irish heritage pursuing higher education. Applicants must submit an application form, academic information, and two short essays. The Annual Cocktail Party & Dinner Dance is our signature fundraising gala, held each October. The 53rd Annual event takes place on October 17, 2026 at Ravello's in West Orange, NJ from 6–10 PM. Tickets are available through our RSVP page.
