The Full Story of the Women of Irish Heritage
In 1973, a group of Irish women banded together to form The Women of Irish Heritage. Rumor has it that the Friendly Sons of the Shillelagh suggested there be a Woman’s Auxiliary and the sixteen said – Hell No! No Auxiliary for us!! and established The Women of Irish Heritage.

These sixteen women were the driving force behind our organization that continues their dedication to the promotion of Irish culture, friendship and charitable work.

The success of the organization led to the formation of the Women of Irish Heritage – Jersey Shore, Women of Irish Heritage - Southern New Jersey and Women of Irish Heritage SWFL.

The Women of Irish Heritage meet the first Wednesday of every month, except July and August and December when we have our Holiday Party, at the Friendly Sons of the Shillelagh, 648 Prospect Ave., West Orange, NJ.
